Alabama Theatre

Alabama Theatre was born from a vision of the country music trio, Alabama. These band members lived in Myrtle Beach in the 1970s and when they came back to the area in 1991, they collaborated with the owner of TNN, Country Music Television and the Grand Ol’ Opry–Gaylord Entertainment–to write, direct and produce a nightly production in what is now the Alabama Theatre.

 

 

Who has graced the Alabama Theatre’s stage but Bill Cosby, Ricky Van Shelton, Charlie Pride, Lorrie Morgan, Billy Ray Cyrus, the Oak Ridge Boys and the legendary George Jones to name but a few, in addition to the house show. Ghosts and Legends Theatre

Scare yourself silly with haunted storytelling that is accentuated by special effects, secret doors and narrators that go missing. Tales of hurricanes, pirates and true love are all part of the ghostly experience. Live shows are presented by the dead every 30 minutes.

 

The Ghosts and Legends Walking Tour lasts 90 minutes and takes you to Barefoot Landing’s darkest corners, which are rarely seen by the daytime shoppers. Explore haunted swamps and historic sites on this walking tour. Reservations are required.

 

Ever wonder what an 1850s séance looked like? Wonder no more. Ghosts and Legends presents a theatrical recreation of one, Low Country Séance, where communication with the dead is expected. Open daily.

House of Blues

House of Blues is famous for its big name concerts and the Myrtle Beach House of Blues has hosted such performers as Keith Urban, Sugarland, Edwin McCain, Dierks Bentley and Norah Jones.

The Carolina Opry

Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show

The Dixie Stampede is interactive dinner theatre, where the audience is expected to get their hands dirty. The Dixie Stampede features action-packed entertainment served with a four-course meal—pork tenderloin, rotisserie chicken, vegetable soup, herb-basted potato, vegetable soup, homemade bread and a special dessert—all that you eat with your hands! One hour prior to show time, the fun begins in the Carriage Room where early-arriving guests may enjoy snacks, cold drinks and live entertainment. At show time, guests are lead into the 32,000-square foot arena for the main event. It’s the North versus the South in a friendly, present day rivalry that mimics the Civil War. Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament features the Tournament of Games and you are invited to be an active participant, dine among a cheering crowd and support your knight as battle wages for the kingdom’s honor.
